Students will learn China is a vast and ancient country that has seen far-reaching changes over the past two centuries.

Section 1 – “Road to Independence” pages 607-610

Students will learn that India’s independence movement was nonviolent, unlike Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Students will learn that ancient cultural traditions continue to affect daily life for many people throughout modern India.

Students will learn that although their physical characteristics differ, India’s neighbors share many of India’s political and social challenges.
